I had finally narrowed down my choices and with great anticipation made arrangements to meet these lovely ladies. It really is not as easy as it looks doing this dating thingy. Just like real life people change their mind and decide not to meet, online is no different. I did have a good vibe about these two women though and made arrangements to meet the following week. Remember to keep in contact with your potential dates before the big day as so far all you have been is a email buddy and it is very easy to forget each other quickly.

The restaurant was booked for Wednesay and Thursday of next week so I was a happy boy and extremely excited about meeting these women.

Responding to profiles to get my date

So after finally receiving a lot of messages I decided it was time to narrow down options and weed out the ones I was not interested in. Online dating really is no different than going to a bar or club its a numbers game. You see the girls you are interested in and statrt talking to them and asking for numbers and hopefully by the end of the night you have managed to accumulate a few numbers. With online dating it really is the same even when you have received messages you respond and over a period of time you would have organised yourself some dates.

Always keep your options open,. Do not think to yourself that just because you are in communication with a girl that has caught your eye that you may as well cancell your account, oh no as it may fall through. Would you give up your quest in a bar because a girl gave you her number, doubtfull as there is always the chance that it may fall through so what do you do, you grab a few more numbers.

Over a short period of time I was chatting away to some lovely women looking to set up dates. One was very willing to meet within the next couple of days which was great for me as Im the type of guy that really likes to meet quickly. The other women was interested in a bit of banter which I was totally cool with. With the first women we had finally made plans to meet at a local restaurant. Thank God I was honest in my profile as this was the do or die situation, no back tracking over lies. Ive always found that honesty rules with online dating. Keep it simple and it will get you a long way.

Email Messages

So I finally received quite a few messages and decided to return the compliment. I found that the best way was to try doing it in a humorous way and get to the point. See the longer you linger with conversations the easier it if for both parties to forget each other and move on to pastures new. You need to chat a bit then hit up the question "when are we going to meet". Get it done as this is obviously what you joined to do, meet people right?.

I Need A Date

So there I was realising that my love life or lack of needed kicking up a notch. I realised that due to work commitments I really was not getting out like I should which in turn resulted in a zilch social life.

I had this brainstorm why not do what the masses are doing and join a online dating site. So I found a couple of good pictures of myself and for hours trying to complete my profile but was stuck. I couldn't find anything exciting you know something that the ladies would love. I sat and sat then "bingo" why do I not just be me and forget about trying to summarize myself up as say superman. It was a little tricky at first as I found the dating site a little daunting, question after question, they just didn't see to let up. After a while I became at ease with answering questions about myself which in fact I don't think I had ever had to do in my life.

I uploaded my pictures and sat back waiting for the floodgates to open with all these women emailing me asking to go out on a date. Little did I realise that it does not work like that. From my experience the man has to be just as proactive on the Internet as he does in normal life if he wants to get a date. So over the course of the next couple of days I was sending out the generic "oh I love your profile" message and realised this was getting me nowhere.

I could sense that a lot of these ladies were getting an enormous amount of mail so I had to send one that would stand out from the crowd. I would then go to each profile and find a little snippet that they had written and from that try to incorporate it into a humorous email to them. Sometimes it hit the spot and I would get positive results with my messages which were always encouraging as online dating is like fishing, you throw out your bait and hopefully one will bite.
